Motherhood Mondays: Doo-wop group
Toby and I were on our way to the playground on Saturday, when we passed this AMAZING doo-wop group. Toby was transfixed! It was one of those awesome New York experiences. They play every Saturday (except when it rains) on Bleecker Street right outside Murray's Cheese. Man, those voices.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend! xoxo
Which of the Beatles would you kiss?
The Smiths

When Alex and I first started dating, I'd go over to his Brooklyn apartment and we'd drink wine and order dinner. (I remember always getting insane butterflies when I walked up the stairs to apartment! He would lean over the banister to say hello, and I would get all heart-pound-y.) Anyway, he'd usually put on music by The Zombies, Love and The Smiths, so I thought he might appreciate these clever limited-edition prints.(Via Mixed Plate)

Inspired by Iceland
Inspired by Iceland is a new project by the Icelandic government that encourages people to travel to Iceland and not be too scared of volcanos. Don't you love this video that they made? The filming is incredible, and, oh, those glaciers!

My dear readers, who's your celebrity crush? The young Mick Jagger* has been mine for ages. His floppy hair and giant smile get me every time. So I was thrilled to see this awesome tumblr devoted just to him!P.S. * Can you have a crush on the young version of someone?
P.P.S. Remember this funny look-a-like?

Mick Jagger look-a-like
Confession: I have such an enormous crush on the young Mick Jagger that Alex sometimes hides our Rolling Stones photography books. Well, my dears, guess what? There is a Mick look-a-like in Stockholm!!!!!!!! He was spotted on Garance Dore last week. A Swedish Mick Jagger? Be still my heart.
Can you believe the resemblance? Based on the way he's cutely jutting out his lips, he must know it, too.(Via Kate Neckel)

70's rockstars at home with their parents
This photo series features 1970's rock musicians at their parents' houses. They look weirdly out of place, but I'm sure their moms still think of them as that little boy who wet the bed and begged for bedtime stories.

The World's Largest Beatles (Ferris Bueller) Sing-a-Long
Check this out, New Yorkers! This Friday at 7pm, at the New York Halloween parade, a secret group of friends are planning to recreate that fabulous Ferris Bueller scene, where Ferris inspires a Chicago parade to sing Twist & Shout. They already have 1,000 volunteers, balloons, sound equipment and an entire marching band!!! You can join them here. HOW AMAZING!!!!(Via Jenny)
New Kids on the Block
REUNION!!! When I was 12, I was completely head over heels in love with Joey McIntyre. So was my twin sister. In fact, we'd sit in our mom's car in the garage and listen to their cassette (we didn't a tape player in our house), and my sister would tell me, very earnestly, "I'm not just a screaming fan. I love him. I really love him." Looks like she chose well, right?
