I have a cold. (So does Paige. So does Moses.) Colds always make you sound like a wuss 'cause it's just a cold, but they really knock you out! Special thanks to Alexei, who made me tomato soup, recommended that I go to bed after watching The Office and then told me stories until I fell asleep.
When I was little, I hated pepper. My dad would always pepper the soup before serving it and I'd find it way too spicy, while my sister and brother lapped it up. But I think I've grown into it! Maybe pepper is one of those acquired tastes, like avocados, smoked fish and beer. Anyway, here are three charming salt & pepper shakers from (guess where?) etsy!
Vintage owl salt & pepper shakers.
Vintage brass salt & pepper shakers.
Vintage birds salt & pepper shaker.
How gorgeous are these crochet flowers? I would love to fill my house with them.
Next time I'm in San Francisco, I'd love to go to this flower arranging class*. Anna seems really awesome--and did floral work for Oprah!
I'm not that outdoorsy (camping, yikes), but I really love natural elements inside. Abbey posted this great story about bringing nature into the home with driftwood shelves and birch wall panels. Gorgeous!
Ok, ok, I know antlers peaked years ago and are now officially over. Everyone's sick of plastic antlers, cloth antlers, knit antlers, lucite antlers, chandelier antlers, jewelry antlers--too many antlers! But even after the explosion and backlash, I still love honest-to-goodness actual antlers as art. They add a beautiful natural shape to the wall, and you can display them guilt-free, because deer shed their antlers every year.
When the apartment is all set up, my bank account and I are going to try our best to have fresh flowers at all times. My main inspiration is Housemartin. Her arrangements are stunning, and I love how she wraps the leaves around the insides of the vases...Also, wouldn't it be soothing to be around flowers all day, like she is?

These hooks are handcrafted from maple, beech and birch grown in Vermont. Nice. Also, they make spoons:

Inspired by a cold winter, here are stunning iceberg photos by Camille Seaman from the timely series "The Last Iceberg" of the larger project "Melting Away." Some are from Greenland, others Antarctica. Wouldn't you love to hear about her photographic adventures?

I'm feeling dreamy today. Wouldn't you like to lie on the grass and let your thoughts wander?
I don't wear jewelry. I like to keep things very simple, and, also, I don't have any. But I am taken by this branch necklace. What a nice way to welcome in the fall. (via Camilla)
My main man Alex wrote a great article today about how bottled water is really environmentally unfriendly--think of the plastic of each bottle and the transportation used to get it here from as far away as Fiji. When you think about it, it's really insane and seems so much better to get Nalgene bottles or reuse plastic bottles for weeks at a times. Let's do it, dudes!
Linen and wool toadstools. P.S. Do you like convertibles? My dad talks about them in this newspaper!
