Rainbow

This morning, I've been writing up a post about our weekend, but as a new mom, everything takes 100x longer than expected. So, in the meantime, I thought you might like this rainbow windshield. :)

Rainbow birthday party

Jessi Arrington loves color, so she decided to have a rainbow birthday party. Everyone had to dress in a single color, and Jessi herself changed into a different color every hour! Awesome. (Click the photo to enlarge.)

P.S. Cute rainbow watches.

Colorful sneakers

I wear T-shirts, jeans and sneakers almost every day, so I was excited to spot these rad Frye leather low tops on Unruly Things. What a cute way to mix things up for the summer. Which color would you choose? (I think I'd go for mustard yellow.)

P.S. Fun shoelaces to jazz them up...

Home Inspiration: Pops of Red

I never used to love red, but my friend Abbey always raved about how wonderful it can be. Tonje Holand's beautiful house in Norway helps prove Abbey's case. (Love those red lips!)

House Inspiration: Red Doors

I gasped when I saw this room. How gorgeous are the black floors, mismatched chairs and trusty bicycle? The room looks so lived in and welcoming. And what a brilliant idea to paint the interior doors red. I never would have thought of that!

Welcome Home

Isn't this nice?

Home Inspiration: Bold Colors

Meredith Kleinman, a designer and painter, has created such a colorful home. I usually veer toward more neutral colors when decorating, but I'm inspired by her boldness. Don't you love these rooms, especially that wallpaper? Bonus: She has a Japanese bathhouse, which looks ridiculously amazing.

Poketo Wallet.

I am really, really digging this wallet by Scotland artist Stuart White.

Shim & Sons

Cute new wares in the Shim & Sons shop.

Cookies and Such

Hope you had a lovely weekend! Apart from picnics and a ridiculously delicious dinner at Perry St., I spent time writing for Cookie's Nesting blog, which I'm so excited about. Here are the posts I've written so far...

1. Three iconic chairs that come in kid sizes.
2. A nature-inspired home in Portland.
3. Window drops.
4. Colorful mobiles.

I hope you like them! Please feel free to register (for free) on Cookie's site so you can comment on them--I would love you forever and ever.

Peacocks, now you can wear 'em.

Cool tees brought to you by the French company Six Pack.

No Boys Allowed?

The question of the day: Can straight guys get away with using clear umbrellas? My brother Nick loves them, but he's worried that they seem too girly or gay (not that there's anything wrong with that). I told him that he is tall and cute and can pull anything off, but what do you think, readers?

Living etc. goes online etc.

Living etc. magazine (British!) recently launched an online photo gallery. Their rooms are simple yet creative, with a nice use of color. Click here to take a look...

Color Me Vase

Pretty! Handblown vases would add a nice pop of color to a sidetable or mantlepiece.

Look, Lucy, more mobiles!

I was already into these colorful mobiles, but then I realized that they're made from magazine pages! Now I'm in love. Luce, what do you think?

Motivational Posters (For Real)

Remember those painfully cheesy motivational posters that were always sold in malls? Well, Right Brain Terrain has designed cool versions, which actually do inspire. I LOVE this focus poster. And it works well, because now that I've filled my apartment with artwork, I'm moving on to my office...
